How does it work?
Six short steps from account to CSV.
- Create a free account and log in to the ledger; your entries are tied to your account.
- In the new entry form, enter the type (income or expense), the amount and the date.
- Pick a category: use the ready-made system categories or add a new category of your own.
- Write a note if you like; when you search, you can filter by that note.
- From the filter bar, pick the date range, type and category; review the monthly summary and the category breakdown.
- Download the list as CSV with the same filters; edit or delete an entry.

Frequently asked questions
Is Gelir-Gider Defteri free?
Yes. On the free plan you can keep up to 200 entries in total; there is no limit on the number of categories. Your entries are stored with your account, and you can delete them whenever you like.
Why do I archive a category instead of deleting it?
An archived category stays on old entries, so the breakdown of past months does not change. An archived category does not appear in the new entry form; you can rename it whenever you like.
What format can I use for the amount?
Both Turkish and international formats are accepted: 1.234,56, 1234,56, 1234.56 and 1234 all give the same result. The amount is stored with kurus precision; only TRY is used.
How is the monthly summary calculated?
The entries in the date range you choose are totaled on the server: total income, total expenses and the net result, which is the difference between the two. The month, category and type breakdowns come from the same filter; they match the entries you see in the list exactly.
Can Excel open the CSV file?
Yes. The export is produced with a UTF-8 BOM and a semicolon separator; Turkish characters and decimal values show correctly in Excel. The file name is gelir-gider-defteri.csv.
What happens to my entries if I close my account?
When the account closure is complete, your ledger entries and your own categories are deleted along with your account. This cannot be undone; we recommend downloading important entries as CSV beforehand.
Why should you track income and expenses regularly?
Keeping a month's income and expenses in your head becomes hard; the picture blurs once credit card statements and irregular freelance income come into play. Gelir-Gider Defteri stores every entry with its type, amount, date and category; for the range you choose it shows total income, total expenses and the net result. Your entries are tied to your account; you define your own categories and edit or archive them whenever you like.
